Registration conditions

You need to register to be admitted to the reading rooms. You can register free of charge at either the Pierrefitte or the Paris site.
You will be issued with a reader's ticket and number when you register. Readers' tickets are valid for one year and are renewable.

Who can register at the Archives Nationales ?
Anybody aged 18 and over may register, irrespective of nationality.
Minors between the age of 16 and 18 are also admitted on presenting written authorisation, accompanied by a photocopy of their legal guardian's identity document.


Save time
To avoid waiting you can pre-register online in the "online catalogue" section, which also entitles you to reserve two documents.
Please note: pre-registration needs to be confirmed on arriving at the Pierrefitte or Paris site (from Monday to Saturday, 9am to 4:30pm), when you will also be asked to present valid proof of identity with a photo.
