Archives Nationales e-publications

OpenEdition Books
The publications area of the Archives Nationales is hosted on the OpenEdition Books platform and disseminates the results of the many conferences and study days it organises and takes part in. It provides access to e-publications covering events held since 2009. Other conferences are being prepared and encoded for online publication.
OpenEdition has been developed by the Centre pour l'édition électronique ouverte (CLEO), whose main mission is to promote open access e-publications. The OpenEdition Books platform hosts book collections in all languages relating to all areas of research in the humanities and social sciences. Works are available for consultation as HTML files and may be downloaded as ePub or PDF files. Articles may be cited using their specific permanent URL (permalink).
Works may be accessed via a common catalogue used by all the publishers, and are systematically referenced in specialised databases (Google Scholar, Isidore, OpenAIRE, etc), or by using library search tools such as Proquest and Exlibris. Consult the proceedings of Archives Nationales conferences online.

The Archives Lab
Over recent years archives have come under fresh scrutiny from archivists, historians, sociologists, political scientists, IT experts, administrators, publishers, museum specialists, historians, and artists. By examining the enduring materiality of archives they have opened up new research horizons and sketched out new methodological approaches to apprehend the complexity of the archives and archival science, explored here. Research necessarily involves observation, experimentation, hypothesis, and debate, but it also requires a forum for working and sharing, for writing, working through methodological issues and results, and building up a body of research.
