Accessibility for People with Disabilities
For people with disabilities, whether visitors or researchers, there are various ways to access the National Archives sites and their services.
How to reach the Pierrefitte-sur-Seine and Paris sites
At Pierrefitte-sur-Seine
Public transport
• Bus line 255 (Porte de Clignancourt–Stains), stop Saint-Denis Université, is accessible. From there, a 2-minute accessible route leads to 59, rue Guynemer.
• Tram T1, stop Basilique de Saint-Denis, followed by a 15-minute accessible route.
You can plan your journey and obtain assistance on the RATP site and on Accès plus Transilien, the dedicated service for SNCF/RER.
Nearest arrival stations: La Plaine Stade de France (RER B) + bus 255; Gare de Saint-Denis (RER D) + tram T1.
An adapted vehicle service is available via Accès plus Transilien; reservations can be made on the Assist’enGare platform up to 24 hours before departure. Contact the reservation platform at 32 12 (calls charged at local rate).
Parking for people with reduced mobility
Five designated parking spaces are reserved right in front of the entrance at 59, rue Guynemer.
Taxi or private vehicle drop-off inside the National Archives compound near the entrance is possible — ring the intercom at 59, rue Guynemer or notify security at +33 (0)1 75 47 20 80.
In Paris
The Caran reading room (entrance at 11, rue des Quatre-Fils — 75003) is accessible to people with reduced mobility.
The ground floor of the museum (entrance at 60, rue des Francs-Bourgeois) is also accessible. Ask at reception for access to the ramp located at the rear of the museum. To prepare your visit, call +33 (0)1 40 27 65 35.

Entering the National Archives buildings
Pierrefitte site
The Pierrefitte-sur-Seine site is freely accessible to people with reduced mobility, including the reading room, exhibition hall and auditorium.
Paris site
The Caran reading room is freely accessible to people with reduced mobility.
The National Archives Museum at the Hôtel de Soubise is accessible to people with reduced mobility upon request at reception. It is recommended to notify the museum by phone before your visit:

Acceo
The public accessibility register can be consulted on request at the reception of the Pierrefitte-sur-Seine site, the museum (Hôtel de Soubise), and the Caran reading room in Paris.
Telephone accessibility for deaf and hard-of-hearing people is available through the free Acceo service, provided by the Ministry of Culture.
Accessibility Equipment
Pierrefitte-sur-Seine
• Magnetic induction loops are installed at site reception and at the reading room desks.
• A tactile model of the Pierrefitte site is available in the hall at the entrance to the permanent exhibition route.
• A video magnifier that can enlarge original documents up to 40× in high definition and/or on high-contrast backgrounds is available on request in the reading room.
• Easy-to-Read and Understand (FALC) visitor booklets — written in an inclusive style — are freely available at the entrance to the permanent exhibition Les Archives explorent le temps. They were created in collaboration with workers with disabilities from an ESAT (work assistance service) and are intended for visitors seeking a simplified approach to the exhibition.
Paris
• Wheelchairs and walking-seat chairs are available on request at the museum reception.
• Magnetic induction loops are installed at the museum reception and at the Caran reading room desks.
At the National Archives Museum – Hôtel de Soubise:
• Braille and large-print room labels, and visitor booklets for certain exhibitions, are available.
Caran reading room:
• The video magnifier that enlarges original documents up to 40× is available on request in the reading room.
• Some temporary exhibitions include a FALC booklet developed with workers with disabilities from an ESAT for simplified understanding.
Adapted Cultural Programming
Committed to accessibility for all citizens, the National Archives offer adapted cultural programming throughout the year, including visits and workshops for people with disabilities.
Video presentations of the National Archives in French Sign Language (LSF) are also available.
