The National Archives Museum is located in the historic Hôtel de Soubise in Paris. The princely salons and exhibitions of the museum are open to all visitors free of charge. 

Museum Access

To enter the museum, cross the main courtyard of the Hôtel de Soubise and use the central door. Admission is free for all visitors.

Inside the Museum

Visitor guides to the Hôtel de Soubise including a floor plan are available at the museum entrance. French, English, and Spanish guides may be obtainable. 

Visiting Conditions & Rules

To enhance visitor safety (Vigipirate plan), bags are subject to inspection before entering the courtyard. Large luggage exceeding 55 cm × 35 cm × 20 cm is not permitted. 

Strollers are allowed if they pose no risk.

Rigid baby carriers are not permitted.

Photography and personal video recording for strictly private use are allowed if they do not compromise the integrity of displayed works, disrupt movement, or disturb others — flash photography is prohibited.

Professional or commercial filming and photography require prior authorization from the National Archives.… 

Group Visits

Visits by groups accompanied by their own speaker (minimum 6 persons including the speaker) must be reserved in advance and are subject to a separate fee. 

Practical Services

Cloakroom: Free lockers are available for coats and small personal belongings.
Required deposit: Larger items such as suitcases, grocery bags, backpacks, and helmets must be deposited in the cloakroom.
Wheelchairs and walking seats: Provided on request at the museum reception.

Saturday, Sunday: 14:00 – 17:30 (up to 19:00 during major exhibitions)
