Reading Room at Paris (Caran) — Practical Information
The CARAN provides access to public archives dating from before 1789 and to the archives of Paris notaries from the 15th century onwards.
Access to documents is subject to reservation conditions on Saturdays.
On Saturdays, only documents that were reserved in advance can be consulted.
The reading room is open to adults and, on authorization, to minors aged 10 and above.
Visitors must comply with the reading room regulations to consult archival documents.
